Nashville, TN (7.22.2014) Florida Georgia Line Go Viral With Dirt
Two weeks into release of their hit single “Dirt” Florida Georgia Line is finding success on the inter-webs with their newest music video.
The Florida Georgia Line lyric video for “Dirt” was directed by Lloyd Aur Norman, and produced by Cameron McCasland of Villain Place in Nashville, TN. The video follows a week after the release of the first single from the new album from Republic Nashville and Big Loud Mountain. It strays from convention utilizing practical set pieces and artwork to illustrate the lyrics of the song atop charming backgrounds of country life. The video was filmed on location at the Copper Canyon Ranch in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. The lyric video has gone viral after being featured on websites for Vevo, Youtube, CMT, MTV, and Rolling Stone.
Producer Cameron McCasland said “We are all over the moon with the response the lyric video for ‘Dirt’ has been getting. I think Lloyd, (our director) had a great vision for it. FGL and Big Loud Mountain were very supportive in allowing us to try something that is unprecedented in music videos. We think this will be a game changer in the production values of lyric videos going forward. Florida Georgia Line really has set the bar high.”
Director of the Dirt lyric video, Lloyd Aur Norman was also very excited about the end results of the video. “It was a honor to create the lyric video for a song as captivating as Dirt. When Brian and Tyler of FGL told me they loved the lyric video and it was a ‘Touchdown’ I felt really proud of all of our actors and crew.”
Florida Georgia Line has been busy supporting the single with television appearances on NBC’s The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Live With Kelly & Michael, and the inaugural Nickelodeon Kids Choice Sports Awards.
FGL’s new single made quite an impact during in the first week of release, landing at Number One on the Country Digital Singles chart. “Dirt,” from FGL’s upcoming album due in the fall, also ranked Number Two on the all-genre Top Digital Songs chart with 182,929 digital downloads. On the overall Billboard Hot 100, “Dirt” debuts at No. 11, marking the highest entrance for a country duo in the chart’s nearly 56-year history.
The duo of Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley are currently on the road with Jason Aldean for the “Burn It Down” tour. Florida Georgia Line are putting final touches on their next album, the follow-up to their two-times platinum debut Here’s to the Good Times, with producer Joey Moi.
